When it comes to success in reaching HIM automation and legal EHR objectives, no one tells the story better than our customers.  Hospital executives and HIM professionals alike have taken the time to share their stories in order to help other hospitals achieve the same kinds of success.

Saint Luke's Magic Valley Saint Luke's Magic Valley
St. Luke’s, currently 123 beds, is the principal hospital in a community of about 40,000 residents in Twin Falls Idaho. Located on the Snake River in south central Idaho, Twin Falls was founded in 1904 and serves as a regional commercial center for both south central Idaho and northeastern Nevada, known as the Magic Valley.

Like all regional hospitals, St. Luke’s needs to continually improve to remain viable. In the last two years, they have been able to make significant improvements in key revenue cycle metrics, increase physician satisfaction, improve Health Information Management (HIM) efficiency and generate a rapid return on investment by implementing eWebHIM, eWebHealth’s legal electronic health record application to extend their Meditech clinical electronic health record investment.
Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania:
Revolutionizing Medical Record Workflow

Working with eWebHealth, the nation's oldest teaching hospital was able to scan its paper charts, then give authorized users simultaneous access to this historical patient information via the Web. The results have been dramatic: HUP cut its medical records staff by 30 percent, freed up 2,000 square feet of space for revenue-generating activities, gained about $750,000 of additional reimbursements a year because of fewer denials, and significantly reduced the amount of time it takes to get invoices out the door. More recently the hospital has cut its delinquency rate from over 50 percent to less than 10 percent. They have been able to maintain this low delinquency rate for over a year.
Mount St Mary's Mount St. Mary’s Hospital:
Gaining the Optimal Mix of Value & Functionality

Aiming to free up scarce space within its cramped walls, Mount St. Mary’s Hospital and Health Center, a member of the Ascension Health System, chose the eWebHealth solution to allow them to provide clinicians and others with fast, comprehensive and secure access to medical records; and reduce the cost and labor associated with paper records. Thanks to eWebHealth, Mount St. Mary’s has achieved its goals.

Now, when clinicians need a chart, they can get it immediately on a web page with just a few clicks. “If we see a patient in the ER, his primary care physician can see the records on screen in his office the next day, when the patient returns for follow-up care,” he said. “And at least indirectly, by increasing the speed and completeness of our clinical communications, we are improving the quality of care and patient outcomes.”
Ozark Health Medical Center Ozark Health Medical Center:
Stepping Boldly Toward a Paperless Environment

Ozark turned to eWebHealth’s technology solution for medical records workflow for the answer. After evaluating several options, Ozark found eWebHealth “was geared specifically for medical records” says Smith. Further, in a medical center with burgeoning technology – the numbers of computers alone had nearly quadrupled in a year – a system shouldn’t necessitate purchase of additional equipment, a requirement that eWebHealth’s web-based offering easily met.

Ozark preferred eWebHealth because the system seemed simple to navigate and easy to train staff to use – even those unaccustomed to computers. “When we chose eWebHealth, I was thinking of the physicians down the road and what it would take to explain the system to them,” says Kathy Fugitt, Ozark’s IT director. “I felt like eWebHealth’s system would be a good way to get started with computers because they could pick it up very easily.”
Tarzana Treatment Centers Tarzana Treatment Centers:
Using Technology to Improve Patient Care, Maintain Compliance, and Increase Efficiency

The biggest differentiator we found with eWebHealth is its ability to carefully redesign our workflow to maximize efficiency, eliminating all of the wasted time we were spending and instead focusing on careful, thoughtful design of how to do our work well.”

“The eWebHealth SaaS solution offers a justifiable pricing model and provides a high level of security — it’s Web-based, so there’s no hardware investment needed. And because it’s Web-based, that means our clinicians and other caregivers don’t need to come to the office to do things like chart completion or chart signatures. They can do it all online, and it’s HIPAA compliant.”
Wilson Memorial Hospital Wilson Memorial Hospital:
A Community Hospital Looking to Innovate

The Medical Records department at Wilson wanted to better serve its customers. The Information Technology group wanted to make the hospital’s existing clinical EHR systems more usable by a larger audience. It all came down to the need for an a web-based Legal EHR.

The fact that eWebHealth offered a hosted solution meant Wilson could avoid costly server purchases and would incur a much less expensive price tag than other traditional installed applications offered. An additional plus for Wilson was eWebHealth’s built-in and configurable medical records workflow for coding, chart completion and electronic physician signatures.
